Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
We are an Essential
Online Research Facility for
you undergraduates and graduates, throughout you job hunt.
In particular we help you to search for relevant undergraduate and graduate job roles and can help you apply for roles within 1-2 hours.
..."Grad
Application Advice of the Graduates, by the Graduates, for the Graduates".
We
have designed the website with the massive help of Cambridge, Oxford, Sheffield and
Warwick Uni Graduates to identify and eliminate the unnecessary steps
involved when applying for a job role.
You should
Register
now with us because we understand and have solved many of the difficulties you experience when simultaneously
applying for jobs and studying, especially in light of the recent recession with the ever increasing application rejection rate and competition per student job role.
Grad Application Advice will help you successfully apply for specific jobs and prepare for specific interviews in the quickest way possible so that you avoid the dreaded
question:
“What
happens if I am offered a conditional job role contract but do not get the degree
grade required because I sacrificed too much of my studying time so that I could send off job applications and attend interviews??"
Unlike
other job websites, we can help you search for AND ALSO prepare and apply
for specific job roles.
For
each role on the website, employers provide detailed information about
themselves and each role they are recruiting for including details related to
each stage in their application process, so you know what to expect
and how to deal with each stage including the intial interview stage.
We
are also the first graduate website that caters for dyslexic and
non-dyslexic students alike. We have used a simple layout and
consistent colour co-ordinated schemes so that you can quickly understand and
absorb role and employer information.
You can search for any of the following undergraduate and graduate opportunities:
- Apprenticeships
- Internships
- Work Placements
- Graduate Schemes
- Part Time roles
- Gap Year roles
You should refer to
our Grad
Application Advice Centre for full information on how to
successfully apply in 1-2 hours.
In brief, in any
application you make, you should demonstrate that:
- You have researched the role and
employer.
- You possess the skills and
qualifications that the employer desires.
After
searching for
job roles opportunities on Grad Application Advice and clicking on a
role, the information provided about the role and employer is
detailed and tailored so that you can research the role and employer
quickly and in the depth that is required to complete the application form
quickly and in one sitting.
Although other job
websites meet employer’s requirements, they are out of sync with the requirements
of undergraduates & graduates.
Grad Application
Advice meets both the employers and undergraduate & graduate
students’ requirements.
We have achieved
this by designing several employer services working closely in conjunction with
students from and to tailor the services so that the specific needs of students
are also met.
The result of this
is that Grad Application Advice is an Essential Online Research Facility for
undergraduates & graduates at each stage in their job hunt and is
therefore equally an essential Online Marketing Tool for Employers from
which Employers will benefit greatly.
Undergraduates and Graduates accept us an as Essential Online
Research Facility. Hence, throughout
their job hunt, they will continuously visit Grad Application Advice.
This is very important to any undergraduate/graduate role
marketing campaign you run as these undergraduates and graduates are more
likely to visit your Employer Binder and open any emails you send to them.
Compared to other online
services we will save you time, money and effort when recruiting
undergraduates and graduates enabling you to secure more
qualified and better employees.
We are primarily an Online Marketing Company that operates within
the recruitment industry.
However, we do have a system in place that allows us to identify undergraduates and graduates that meet your exact requirements.
The benefits of this are that you can run Email Campaigns targeted at specific groups of students and can also inform us of Vacancies you have that need filling and we can immediately inform you of candidates that meet your requirements.
Currently we have
utilised the latest internet technology to offer an ‘Employer Binder’ and ‘CV
Search’ service and are working on providing you an ‘Email Marketing’ service.
Each of these
services are cost effective, innovative and are an efficient way to secure
your business's future.
Please refer to our Employers
Information page to learn more about these services in detail.
As a ‘next
generation’ job website, our marketing techniques differ to our
competitors.
We are
concentrating on marketing ourselves with a careful blended combination of
the traditional “Outbound Marketing” techniques and the 'next
generation' “Inbound Marketing” techniques.
Outbound
Marketing Techniques
in general involve a company finding prospective clients and informing them
about their service. We plan on attending
Career Fairs
and building strong relationships with University Career Departments so that we
create a strong brand presence on University campuses.
Inbound
Marketing Techniques
are completely opposite in that they focus on allowing a client to find out
about a product as and when they require it. We are utilising the internet's
unlimited marketing capabailities including social networking platforms and
search engine optimisation so that when undergraduates and graduates start
looking for jobs, they find and use Grad Application Advice first and
immediately.
The benefit
of our marketing approach is that it allows for us to continue
building a strong brand name quickly and in a sustained manner
so that we are not just a 'one hit wonder'.
Within 1
week
of utilising the internet’s marketing capabilities, we have attracted
approximately 500 students from top 5 Universities to sign up to our
newsletter so that we can inform them when we start added employers onto the
website.
No not at all!
You are always in control of what information is displayed on the website about
yourself and the job roles you are recruiting for.
In accordance with our Terms and
Conditions of Use Agreement, you must answer all mandatory
questions when adding a role to the site or adding information about
yourself. These questions are mandatory because they will save
applicants a lot of time that would have otherwise been wasted on
unnecessary tasks.
For example
applicants should not have to waste time learning about the structure of your
corporate website before they can navigate around it to find out about
you. Our solution is to allow you place specific and direct hyperlinks to
relevant pages of your corporate website.
Another example
is that by displaying competency questions (and associate word counts) within a
role description, you are saving applicants at least 5-10 minutes as
they can prepare their answers immediately and fill in the application form in
one sitting. Otherwise they will have to log into the application form,
copy and paste the questions into a word processing package before they are at
this stage.
As you can see from these exampls, your systems are
not undermined at all.
We fully
cater for Employer's recruitment requirements.
You can add,
edit and delete as many roles as you wish in your simple to use Role CMS
(content management system).
Log into your
admin panel, click on “add/edit a role” and fill out the details and click
"update" and the role is added to the Graduate Role Search Engine.
Do this for each role you wish to add.
Furthermore, the
beauty about your Role CMS is that you can add and edit the information
displayed in the role overview at any point in time. You can even make the
role "in-active" for any duration so that graduates cannot
view details for the role and when you start accepting applications for the
role again, simply make it "Active" again.
Whether the role
is an apprenticeship, internship, work placement, graduate scheme and/or part
time/gap year project this will appear in your Employer Directory and
each role will be individually searchable by students.
Recruitment Agencies may only add job roles to the website in their 'Employer Binder' if they are vacancies that they are trying to fill WITHIN their organisiation.
You are not permitted to post any roles on behalf of any of your clients.
We are working on making a service available for this however we are not a Job Board.
We have a CV Search service available for Recruitment Agencies if you wish to find, compare and save undergraduates and graduates so that you can contact them about a role that may be of interest to them and your client.
